The F-86 Sabre is one of the most iconic and recognizable fighter aircraft ever built. As one of the first-ever jet-powered fighter aircraft with swept wings, it achieved an unmatched victory ratio of 10 to 1 against the MiG-15 during the Korean War. Lieutenant Jim Thompson was credited with shooting down two MiGs during that time, one of which had a dragon painted on the side. Soon after, he had a similar dragon painted on the side of his iconic F-86, known as ??The Huff.?? Skill Level 2 – Some ExperienceRequired
Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience andthe skills to assemble, set up and/or fly similar class models. And although this is one of the easiestto fly F-86 models yet, it’s not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or first-ever EDF(Electric Ducted Fan) jet model for intermediate to experienced RC pilots. You should have theexperience and skills necessary to successfully fly simpler EDF models like the E-flite Habu SS (SuperSport) 50mm or 70mm before attempting to fly the UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF.
Are you new to flying RC (Radio Controlled) aircraft? If you are, the UMX F-86 Sabre is not a suitablefirst-ever RC model and we recommend learning to fly with one of our purpose-built trainer aircraft suchas the E-flite? Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE) 70mm EDFjet. It’s equipped with exclusive and innovative SAFE technology that makes it possible foralmost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes almosteverything needed to fly (except for a compatible LiPo battery and charger that are sold separately) andis a perfect choice if you’re a new RC pilot.

Pitch and Bank Angle Limits
- These envelope limits keep the airplane from rolling or pitching upside down. They also preventexcessive climb or dive angles.
Automatic Self-Leveling
- The airplane instantly returns to and holds level flight when the sticks are released and in thecenter position. It’s also helpful for keeping the wings level during takeoffs/launches andlandings.
Easy Switch Assignment-No Complex Programming Required
- The simple procedure for assigning a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select features on and offdoesn’t require any complex programming and takes just a few seconds. For UMX models like thisone, SAFE Select is automatically assigned to channel 5 (Gear) so you can turn it on and offwith any switch assigned to that channel (switch A by default on most Spektrum computertransmitters).
